High quality digital prints
A Giclee is a high resolution digital fine art print. The quality of this printing process rates as highly as lithographs and silk screen (serigraph) prints. Giclee is now considered to be the best technique for reproducing original works of art. The process has revolutionised the market for one-off and small run limited editions. I use this process to reproduce my original artwork which also gives me the ability to print directly onto high quality canvas, real watercolour papers and a varied range of other media. Indeed, the finished quality makes it difficult to distinguish between the original and the print! The process, which is approved by the UK Fine Art Trade Guild, uses pigmented inks which have 25 years + fade resistance in normal indoor lighting conditions. Unframed prints are supplied with a generous white border to allow for masqueing and framing by the purchaser as desired. If required, I can also supply framed prints with my own choice of masque and frame - chosen with an artistic-eye to allow for optimal display of the artwork. Each print is numbered and signed by the artist.
Original Artwork
I use acrylic as a medium of choice for my original artwork - invariably using oil-painting techniques. Acrylic paint is remarkably versatile and provides good results for both water colour and oil colour techniques. The substrate can vary from high-quality heavyweight art paper to various grades of primed and prepared canvas. Acrylic paint is made by suspending or dispersing pigment in an acrylic resin - the paint film formed by acrylics is waterproof, robust and long-lived in comparison to other, more traditional, media such as oils. The artwork is framed as appropriate for the subject matter. Where I can, I use a carefully-selected and sized colour masque within the frame to optimally display the artwork. I always use a professional framer and the finished product is of exhibition-standard.
